Why getting wealthy is easy…for some people

On my recent trip to New York, I was lucky to catch Adele’s concert in Madison Square Gardens…with about 20,000 over other fans! Her performance just reinforced how powerful music is…and how the surrounding vibrations can lift you up to such levels of happiness and excitement. She kept the audience engaged throughout (no break) and moved from the main stage to a smaller stage at just the right moments. I looked around to see many types of people there, all ages, students, professionals, tourists (like me ha-ha) and everyone was HAPPY! So glad I had this opportunity and such great seats too.

What is Feng Shui Really All About?

Honestly, most people that I meet want to be rich…yet many also think it impossible or that it has to be difficult. I’d like to tell you a secret. The easiest thing to get from feng shui is prosperity luck as long as you know what to do. What is also very good is that feng shui brings you great relationships! It brings improved marriage luck and you can actually use feng shui to attract and keep your spouse…keep your marriage happy and ensure no third party enters to mess things up.

Now perhaps the most wonderful thing of all….feng shui helps to ensure that you have good health! After all, what’s the use of having a lot of money, a great marriage and lots of friends if you are not healthy enough to enjoy it all? Clearing the Inner Clutter

Living with good feng shui is not just about using formulas and methods to gain health, wealth and happiness in this life…it’s also about accessing our inner chi and aligning our minds with the powerful cosmic forces to achieve harmony with the world we live in.

This spiritual practice of inner feng shui must be one of pure intention… not motivated or propelled by any hidden agendas… because inner spirituality has no power when driven by negative forces like anger, greed and revenge. So it’s important to always recheck your motives before beginning any spiritual practice.

We hang on to negative memories. Most of us hang on to negativities and memories, which clutter our minds and cause problems of a physical nature. We Chinese believe that the “inner chi” is even more important than our outer chi… for when the inner channels are blocked we experience negative occurrences…like a lack of success or the onset of an unexpected illness. One way to help clear your inner channels so that energy can flow smoothly is through visualization.

During your visualization practice, make a special effort to recognize and clear your mental blockages… you know the ones I mean… that always seem to come up in some way, shape or form as destructive mental clutter.

You see, your inner mind has great power to enhance your life and can bring with it an avalanche of success and flow of abundance… but you must master the ability to keep images of victory and prosperity vividly in your mind so that your inner power merges magically with your outer reality. Visualizations are very powerful! The supremacy of your mind combined with great imagination can bring all your needs and desires into reality. But to master this technique you need to tune inward and visualize images that show you surrounded by personal abundance… picture yourself letting go of negativities. This is how you must start…by making the mind positive and strong!

A Quick Reminder

Remember to keep all cleaning items like brooms, dustpans and mops out of site in your home or office – and especially your main door. Cleaning equipment symbolizes bad luck and if found near your entry all good luck and fortune may be swept away! This goes for trash bins and wastebaskets as well – keep them well under your desk and out of site.

Lighten Your Spirits

If you’re feeling down, turn on all the lights in your house! If you have windows, open them and let the fresh air in. Both of these yang-enhancing rituals will lift the chi and lift your mood as well!

If your energy is low…be careful of

We’re right in the midst of Hungry Ghost Month and in fact tonight, August 17 is the night of the full moon- it’ also “Ghost Day”. If you live in Malaysia as I do, or in other Asian countries, you will find many Chinese temples putting on feasts and opera shows today with plenty of music, incense and paper offering to spirit ancestors.

I think you all understand what happens in this period, right? During this time it is said that the yin overpowers the yang – meaning that when yin chi dominates the house it begins to attract ghosts and wandering spirits who love yin chi. If your house is too dark or heaven forbid, if it is built over a gravesite then wandering ghosts will find it very attractive. Remember, hungry ghosts have been temporarily released from the hell realms to roam anywhere this month.

So please be extra vigilant this month, okay? And to appease any such visitors, light plenty of incense, offer prayer and the rituals for prosperity for dead relatives to enjoy like paper money, houses, etc. This brings them relief and some material comfort when they have to return to the hell realms.

Finally, don’t go swimming or travel, stay indoors after nightfall (especially children), don’t move house or start a new business or get married during Hungry Ghost Period!

Important Hungry Ghost Reminders
This year the Hungry Ghost period started on August 03 and ends on August 31 2016 in the 7th month of the Lunar Calendar. It is during this month that yin overpowers yang, and as such when yin chi dominates your space, wandering ghosts and spirits are attracted since they thrive in such an environment.

We Chinese believe that it’s important to take extra care during this month, especially at nighttime and to wear additional amulets for protection and they provide more yang energy.

Here are a few things I want to remind you about this month:

Avoid swimming – it’s believed that evil spirits that previously drowned are looking for souls to claim in exchange for a safe passage to rebirth.
Children, teenagers, young adults should not venture out alone at night. Children are particularly susceptible to spirit possession.
It’s advisable to wear amulets of protection containing the seed syllables of HUM or HRIH.
No moving houses, or opening new businesses this month and avoid getting married at all costs!
Avoid campsites; hiking and jungle ventures…ghosts love to inhabit these spots and chances of injury and spirit possession are very high.
Drive with caution, no speeding and avoid accidents. Take your time.
Keep your forehead clean and free of head cover and avoid placing your hands on your shoulders. It is said that everyone has three flames on the body; one on each shoulder and one on the forehead. Touching them is said to put out the flame and weaken your internal energies thus increasing the chances of spirit possession.

The best thing you can do is to appease with offerings of prayer and incense…so read on!

Use Incense Rituals To Appease the Hungry Ghosts
“Hungry Ghosts” are called “hungry” because by their nature they are unable to eat or drink through ordinary means. They can only be “fed” through the smell of smoke of incense and the aroma of food…so they become really happy when incense of other special food aromas are offered them. Just a single stick of incense goes a long way towards pacifying millions of hungry souls.

Generate an attitude of compassion…think how desperate these poor souls must be – trapped in Bardo…trapped between the realms and constantly suffering from extreme deprivation. The karma that causes one to be reborn in this state is the attitude of selfishness, miserliness and stinginess practices in their previous lives.

Although most are too weak to do much mischief – the little they can do can cause tremendous harm in our world and they will take advantage of those of us whose chi energy levels are low and life force is weak.

As an act of kindness please offer incense to them daily during this month.

Incense Offering Ritual
When you begin your incense ritual, first offer it to all the enlightened cosmic beings such as Shakyamuni Buddha and Avalokiteshvara, as well dakinis, spiritual protectors like the Four Heavenly Kings. This is vital as it invokes their presence to keep you protected personally and it blesses your incense offering.

Did you know that when you make offerings to the cosmic enlightened beings that they will appear in your space instantly and bring with them an entire entourage of powerful protectors who will indeed guard you against any harmful mal-intentioned spirits?

To those of you who know how, it is excellent to read the Heart Sutra or recite the mantra of Avalokiteshvara Om Mani Padme Hum 108 times after offering the incense.

In temples you will notice that they are burning incense all the time – to satisfy the ghosts that are always hungry. You can also offer incense regularly to the local spirits and not just during Hungry Ghost Month. If you want to launch a product, if you have an important meeting or need to go to a court case or if you are moving into a new house or apartment then you can make an incense offering.

To do this light up some sweet smelling incense (like Kemenyen or Sandalwood) and chant the following special incense offering mantra as you walk clockwise around the rooms inside your home and also outside your house while holding the incense burner. You can also do this around your office as well.

Om Sambhara Sambhara Hung

Remember to dedicate all the incense and offerings to the holy beings, angels, spiritual protectors, local landlords and wandering spirits around you and ask them to protect you. Let the incense burn out completely.

The buildings and other homes around your house radiate energy, very like a force field that interacts with the energy of your home. Develop an understanding of these force fields so that you know if they bring you good or harmful chi. Usually the chi is good if the buildings that are bigger and taller are behind your home (giving you support and protection) rather than facing your home and blocking your luck and opportunities!

Water Features For Prosperity & The Matriarch

Most of you who have studied with me know that I am a big fan and believer in the effectiveness of water features – you only have to come to my home and see the ones that I have in place.

You see, water features are the best energizers for attracting prosperity luck especially when placed in the SOUTHEAST – either inside or outside your home. Your water feature doesn’t have large or elaborate or be stocked with very expensive fish. But there is one thing you must know. In feng shui we do make the distinction between YIN water, which is quiet and still with no fish or plants inside and YANG water which is moving and filled with life chi. Usually yang water is oxygenated with fish and plants. So if it is prosperity you are after, it is important that your energizing water feature contain yang water – so your pond in the SE should have moving water and there should be life within.

But with regard to water features placed in your SOUTHWEST it’s a bit different. The Southwest is the place of the indirect spirit of the period of 8. The presence of water here also becomes vitally important if it is wealth creation that you seek and I strongly recommend all kinds of water- enhancing features for this sector of your home, especially this year. You can use beautiful water globes with real water to wave design signifying big water inside crystal balls to the placement of three different shaped blue-coloured, glass or crystal vases here filled with blue coloured water. When these are placed in the SW they can seriously enhance your luck for the year.

However, note that you do not need ponds or swimming pools or yang water to energize the power of 8 in the SW although if you do have them it is amazingly lucky. What we are doing here is bringing to life the power of the Matriarch in the home. Water in the SW is not just for wealth creation…but also to ensure that there is the nurturing presence of the mother figure. When activated, the SW also brings reassuring financial stability for the entire household.

The Dangers Of Yin Spirit Formation
And What You Can Do About It

If you find yourself becoming ill or having more relationship issues and problems at the office it could be due to strong yin forces at work. If you are suffering from office politics, small accidents, backache, arthritis, friends that suddenly become enemies – there may be too much yin energy in your home or office. Often we can sense or “feel” this type of energy, which seems to almost be pressing down on us. You must never allow yin energy to dominate any space and in feng shui we refer to this affliction as yin spirit formation.

Here’s what you can do:

Give your home (or office) a yang energy bath frequently! Open the doors and windows to receive new energy flows. Create yang energy with music, have a party and invite young people over and play with your dog or cat! Let the sunshine in and make sure that your rooms are uncluttered and clean so that chi energy can flow smoothly. Stagnant energy develops when the chi flow is impeded…and this yin formation must be avoided.

Coin Swords can effectively supplement roosters and should be placed on the wall on your left side of your facing direction at your desk with the blade pointing down.

Support symbol behind the office desk such as Kuan Kung or the Dragon Tortoise and of course mountain paintings are excellent.

If you are suffering from office politicking, which is a yin force, try a Taoist feng shui cure and use a rooster image. The rooster symbolically gobbles up all the negative gossip! Use a porcelain rooster painted gold or painted white or red and gold. Fire and metal energy will overcome quarrelsome and sickness energy. If you don’t have a porcelain rooster any rooster image will do!
Remember also that the use of celestial creatures of good fortune such as Fu Dogs and Pi Yaos indicate the presence of powerful yang energy and will mitigate any yin forces that attempt to take control!

Energizing Victory Luck in the Southeast
The Victorious 1 star in the Southeast this year brings good fortune and quick success luck and is beneficial for homes that face or sit SE…or if your bedroom or main door is located in the SE.

Since the element of the SE is wood, it is yang water that will strengthen this element and awaken the attributes of the victory luck star. A fountain is good and If you have a pond or pool here even better! It is also beneficial to hoist the Windhorse flag of King Gesar as this will multiply the good effects of the 1 star – it should be placed at the highest point of the home!

Offering Sound and Rhythm To the Cosmic Realm

Using rituals involving sound to create sonic vibrations is something that has been used for centuries by the high lamas of Tibet…they have bells and drums for example and offer these sounds as part of the sonic ritual into the cosmic realm.

You too can begin the cosmic cleansing of your personal space and remove blockages caused by clutter and untidiness…and cleanse your inner thoughts as well with rhythm and sonic vibration.

The steady rhythmic beating of the majestic drum…will awaken stagnant corners and clear stale energy. As you beat the drum, say mantras and put these mantras into the air around you. When you recite mantras as you beat the drum, you are effectively transforming ordinary space into sacred space! You know, there’s nothing more auspicious and effective than the sound of metal on metal to rejuvenate tired energy and clear the space! And it’s an excellent antidote against harmful afflictions such as the five yellow and illness star…yes, the ringing of the metal bell has powerful feng shui connotations. It’s also lucky for the head of the household since it activates the energies of the Chien trigram, which benefit the father of the family.

And in business…especially if you are in retail…ring your bell a much as you want and watch more customers enter your shop. Or ring the bell in your office to increase yang energy and your sales. This kind of feng shui is fun to practice and you’ll see the results quickly.

Invest in a bell that you like…and if you can find one with an auspicious symbol etched onto it like a dragon or mystical knot then even better. But be sure you like it and you like the sound…or you may find yourself not using it!
Always remember that your life is very precious. Never give up on your life, no matter how hard things may seem – if you are defeated and depressed. There is no guarantee your next life will be in the human realm…so don’t take your life now for granted.

Redecorating for Success

I often receive emails from subscribers who are worried about money. I have even had them say…Lillian you could never understand my situation… because you don’t have the same financial worries…you are so successful and all. Those of you who are personally acquainted with me or have attended my classes or extravaganzas know that I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth! Everything that I now possess and the things that my family and I enjoy were gained through hard work, the practice feng shui done with good intention and a positive frame of mind.

Sure there have been lean and tough times…but here’s the thing. If you live in fear about money and your finances you will react from a place of fear. It’s important to understand this. Anything that you focus on expands… so if your thinking is of a positive and upbeat nature you can expect similar results. Be sure to read today’s article on the danger of scarcity thinking -what I want you to take away is that this type of thinking can become a habit.

Most successful and prosperous people don’t stop when faced with obstacles and defeat. They do not give up. You must not either! Please take time and read a few of the biographies of some famous people – you will find that most suffered defeat many times before reaching fame and fortune. You can too!

Re-Decorating For Success
Keeping things in balance…it’s not easy these days. We all live very fast lives in this world of instant gratification and satisfaction. We wonder why we get sick more often; we are not as successful as we would like to be and have problems in the office and at home. There never seems to be enough time in the day to get everything done…let alone have a minute for personal development and relaxation.

In feng shui we recognize the importance of the harmony of yin and yang energies. We Chinese believe that all things in the universe are either female YIN or male YANG…the dark, quiet yin and the bright and boisterous yang – and we know that one without the other cannot exist. We cannot have the warmth of summer without the coldness of winter…or the darkness of night without the bright morning light. But they must be in balance.

When this balance is present everything works in your favor…so it’s important to create such a balance in your home and in your personal life. Think about your living room or bedroom for a moment in this context. Is the room too yin…is it dark and without sunlight or artificial light? What colours have you used? Have you decorated with shades of gray and blue? Is it cramped and uncomfortable? Are you suffering from a spate of bad luck…or have you been ill?

Create More Yang Energy!

Repaint the walls using bright yang colours such as yellows or pinks. White walls are also very yang in nature.
Bring in the light…get rid of dark drapes and replace with curtains that are airy and allow plenty of sunshine in. Keep the room well lit and leave one light on at all times.
Open the windows!
For your bed linens choose duvets and sheets with soft colours that compliment other furnishings. In your living room add brightly coloured pillows or throws to increase yang energy.
Keep the radio or television on – bring in movement with windchimes and people…children and laughter…all symbolizing life force energy.

On the other hand, some rooms are too yang…and this imbalance can also result in illness, poor health, and exhaustion. When music is played all day (and it’s too loud) or your furnishings and walls are brightly coloured or the sunlight is harsh… you may need to introduce some yin energy to counteract.

Create More Yin Energy:

Change the colour scheme to be softer and not so vibrant.
Add heavier drapes if the sun is too strong.
Observe periods of silence…turn off the radio and TV for awhile

So here’s the thing. There’s no real right and wrong way to do this. It’s personal and it’s a very subtle exercise. You’re going to have to experiment so that you never have too much yang or too much yin. You can have music and life in the room but just not all the time. Sometimes you need peace and quiet…but not all the time. If you cannot repaint your living room and the walls are grey and yin in nature…add splashes of yang colour with brightly coloured cushions or wall art. Even a vase of fresh bright and beautiful flowers in the living room adds great yang energy.

It sounds routine but this is one thing that is often overlooked. Just remember that good feng shui practice always includes a yin-yang analysis of the rooms of your home…as well as the surrounding landscape and yard. When there is balance between yin and yang there is prosperity, good health, well-being and happiness.

Annual Afflictions Always Take Precedence: Always keep the annual feng shui afflictions in mind. This year, the center areas of the home or office are highly afflictive and problematic with the hostile 3 star’s presence causing a great deal of aggravation and suffering. In this case we want to keep this area very quiet (yin) -no tinkling wind chimes etc, yet we also want to make sure to keep this sector very well lit with bright lights and lots of red colour (the fire element) like red cushions, decorations etc to exhaust the power of the wood star number.

The Danger of Scarcity Thinking
What do I mean by “scarcity thinking”? It means worrying each time you take out money to buy something…especially something to please yourself. It’s like you’ve been programmed to react to everything from a place of fear about lack of money and why you don’t deserve a particular item that you may want or need. You’re very frugal and worried about everything…perhaps even the amount of food you eat.

The danger in scarcity thinking is that it can become a habit and even your “norm”. You must be aware of this because before long you may forget about prosperity altogether and even give up on your dreams. I’m not suggesting that you run out and buy anything and everything you want…because we all need to be careful about our finances especially in times of uncertainty.
But here’s the thing. You can change the way you think. This is a very doable thing. You don’t have to live in fear about money and react from a place of fear in matters of finance. You can change all this, your life and lifestyle and reverse your scarcity thinking if you have the deep desire, determination and discipline to do so. When you train your mind change will happen and you will change. With proper training and practice, when you begin to visualize a life of prosperity and your ability to succeed, your inner power will take over and set the energies of the universe in motion for you.

There are particular techniques, visualizations and forms of meditations that I have personally used throughout my life that have brought me great success and many blessings both of a spiritual and material nature. You’ve probably read some of them in my books or heard me speak about a few of these ideas at my annual Spiritual Feng Shui Extravaganza.

Believe me, I have seen positive change manifest time and time again with all types of people from all walks of life with many different obstacles and problems…some of them very difficult. The first step is for you to believe and accept that this can happen to you and you deserve to live a prosperous and happy life. Then you must formulate a positive attitude and maintain it no matter what circumstances you face today. Look forward and not backwards…you can’t travel back in time but you can look ahead to tomorrow with a different mindset attitude.

We become what we think about most of the time. Unfortunately if you continue to think with a scarcity mindset then that is where you will remain. Listen to your “self talk” and catch yourself every time you revert to fear based comments.

One of the things I love most about my business and practice of feng shui is that it allows me to share my experience and knowledge with you so that you can effect change in your life…incredible change that really will transform and bring you great happiness. And isn’t that what we are all really after…true peace and happiness?

Remember…everything you need is already within you…the best time to access it is NOW!

Beams and Overhead Fans

When heavy structural beams are positioned directly above sofas, chairs and beds, they tend to cause illness to those seated (or lying) directly below. You may suffer from more stress, general fatigue and migraines. Overhead fans have the same effect although the one benefit of such a fan is that it keeps the chi moving in the room. Try not to have anything heavy or threatening above you in rooms that you occupy frequently

If you want to use your mind to actualize desires you have visualized, you must not worry about how your desires will manifest. Let the cosmic power inside of you take care of the details. Too much worry may sabotage the cosmic plan meant for you.

The secret to wealth and good health

The “Finishing Touch” today talks about feeling good every day …and this begins with having the self-confidence to accept and deal with the challenges that face us. At the heart of feeling good is looking good.

Looking good automatically makes you feel great. Pamper yourself by soaking in a bath of scented water and then massage yourself using aromatic oils. Get a manicure and facial or change your hair colour… whatever makes you feel beautiful. Then put on something new…or the most gorgeous or expensive outfit that you own and go out with good friends who love and support you. I guarantee this this little ritual will always make you feel wonderful…it’s a great quick happiness technique that always works.

Fifth Month of the Yi Wei Wood Sheep Year
(June 6, 2015 – July 6, 2015)

Here’s your monthly flying star chart and I urge you to review this and pay attention to these recommendations. This covers the period June 6, 2015 – July 6, 2015.

In each of the nine grids you’ll see two numbers. The larger number is the annual star, which you probably are already familiar with, and the smaller number in the lower right corner is the monthly star.

The first thing to do is determine where the most important rooms in your house are located. By important I mean rooms that you use frequently…like your bedroom, the kids’ rooms, dining room etc. You may already know this, but if not use a reliable compass and stand in the center of your home to take your directions. Once you know where each sector is, you can refer to the flying star chart below and take appropriate action. So if your front door, the one everyone uses is located in the north sector then refer to the relevant grid below for the kind of luck that will affect everyone in the household this month

Which sector will bring you luck?

The EAST is favored with auspicious prosperity chi bringing good career luck and excellent wealth. Good time for business expansion. If you main door or bedroom is located here you can expect wonderful money luck. Enhance with 8- rod water drop windchime. To avoid unnecessary conflict display 6 smooth crystal balls in this area.

The NORTH has a wonderful combination of stars bringing prosperity and popularity luck to those living in this sector. Many opportunities are available to advance in business during this month. Enhance good fortune with 6 smooth dragon coins and Precious Minister with Windchime. If you entry door is here, keep it well lit. Couples may have love problems so display mandarin ducks to rekindle the fire in your relationship.

Unlucky sectors?

The SOUTH is seriously afflicted as the monthly star of misfortune and the violent star join together to bring problems with health and threat of robbery. Don’t stay in this area if possible. Place yang water feature here to control the bad chi. Illness energy causes complications to eyes or lips – remedy with a longevity vase. Plenty of arguments in the household as bad chi affects the month.

The SOUTHWEST is also an unlucky sector this month as the violent star brings danger of burglary or armed robbery. Display the anti-burglary totem in this area to suppress. In addition, place a yang water feature here, as water chi will help safeguard against accidental fire. Display a fierce rooster here, as occupants of this sector could be vulnerable to sexual advances.

It’s important to fine-tune your feng shui every month and take care of the monthly flying stars. Note that these are only a few of the sectors – for example the NORTHEAST is also a good luck sector this month with luck coming in the form of romance and creative writing achievements!

Watch For Negative Numbers

Never activate any of the negative numbers in your feng shui chart. Don’t inadvertently energize them with bright lights, wind chimes or music since all of these can cause them to “come alive”. Instead it’s a good idea to suppress the areas of your home that are hurt by afflictive numbers by using powerful feng shui cures. This will ensure the safety of residents and visitors to your home.

The secret to health, wealth and happiness is simply to work at feeling good every day of your life. Feeling good comes to those who can feel that their life has a purpose and is meaningful. When you are confident you possess an inner conviction that you can cope with anything that comes along on a tough day. Tap into your powerful inner strength to help you achieve this!

Don’t display this please

I occasionally get emails from people who tell me that they’ve done everything I suggested, put their cures in place (or enhancers) but things still aren’t going well for them. Nothing seems to be moving forward… and they tell me they just feel “stuck”.

This always triggers the “clutter” alarm in my brain. It’s really the first rule of feng shui. Your rooms (especially the ones that you use most frequently) should be uncluttered, clean and always be free of “messy” stuff. You know what I am referring to. Take a few minutes to pick up the magazines; a sweater or the empty glasses…get rid of the clutter.

I also like my living room to be well lit, with an easy energy flow …so you can almost feel the flow and walk around without too much furniture to block the way. When furniture is arranged in this manner so that it is conducive to a winding, slow pathway for people to walk, the chi in the room will also move in such a way.

One time several years ago a good friend contacted me because she was having trouble in her business. They were losing bids they should have easily won and sales had plummeted. I stopped by the office and to my dismay the front office area was lined with old boxes filled with trash from a storage area they had cleaned out a few months back. They had delayed calling someone to remove all the clutter and rubbish. We immediately took care of the trash and sales returned!

Now this is a very simple concept…but one that many of us forget about. We’re too busy, the kids just mess it up anyway, I can’t get them to hang up their jackets…the excuses are many. But that’s all they are. If you’re feeling stuck, you haven’t received the promotion you deserve, you find yourself getting the flu more often…remember the first basic rule of feng shui. Check for clutter in your entryway and the rooms most frequently used in your home.

8 Feng Shui Guidelines for Artwork & Photographs

Many people ask me about what kind of art they should hang and where to hang it. I want to remind all of your that hanging art in your living room is a way to attract good fortune if done properly. Here are a few key guidelines with regard to choosing and hanging artwork in your home.

Don’t display pictures of fierce aggressive animals or abstract art that appears too threatening.
Don’t hang “dark” artwork. Anything that is dark or suggests darkness is too yin in nature and suggest death – no good for your walls.
Hang something on the wall that makes you happy!
Always place art that suggests something lucky – for example a picture of a harvesting scene is lucky, people at a picnic outside in the sunshine or some type of picture of togetherness is always lucky.
Hang a picture of your family looking happy and healthy.
Create a “photograph corner” showing pictures of the family together at happy occasions. When you have pictures showing the family together they will not split and in effect this gives protection because it creates the energy of togetherness. Misunderstandings will be less.
Don’t hang faded and small pictures – have them big…like a really big family portrait. Hang it in a central location with everyone smiling. Make sure the photo is really sharp and clear – really crystal clear so they do not appear to be “fading”. When a picture is faded it means they could fade away.
Remember the first rule of feng shui is that your room should be uncluttered and allow the energy to flow. This applies to your artwork and walls as well. Arrange your photos and artwork so that they can be seen and enjoyed by everyone. Keep it open and airy and free-flowing.

Replenish & Empower Your Precious Spiritual Chi

Your energy and inner chi…your life force should flow like a meandering river of light through the chakras of your body. When it becomes blocked or is forced to stop, the cause for illness and depression is created.

Your spiritual chi is therefore very precious and it needs to constantly be fed and replenished to empower it. When we tap into this higher energy within us we begin to create more and more of it. Make it a daily habit to tune inward, so your spiritual chi communicates with your mind at a conscious level.

Feed your spirit by tapping into the beauty around you…expose yourself to the creative beauty of art, music and others sounds and smells. At this time of year there is a multitude of such sensory delights available to all of us.

Make a conscious effort to avoid environments that are not spiritually healthy…and avoid gloomy pessimistic people who feed on your chi and leave you drained each time you meet them. Instead seek out the people who bring out the best in you and help to nurture your spirit and open spiritual pathways for you.

Shopping all day in crowded malls or shopping centers will drain you of energy and leave you feeling exhausted so at night be sure to sleep with a glass of water mixed with rock salt next to your bed (sea salt is another form of rock salt). This will cleanse your aura of all the negative vibrations picked up during the day.

Use Sea Salt To Remove Negative Energy

Place a small amount of rock salt into a bowl and dip both of your hands into it…rub your hands vigorously together until you feel your palms tingle with the power of the sea salt crystals. Shake off any remaining salt and then place the palms of your hands together about one inch above your head and slowly bring your hands down your body as if stroking it…all the way down from the top of your head to your feet. Imagine and feel that you are brushing away all the negative vibrations …do it three times for the left and right sides, three times for the front and three times for the back.

Now shake your hands a few times and fling off all the negativities. Wash your hands in salt and then soap to cleanse your hands symbolically. This is a wonderful practice…do this for a week and see how you feel!

Tap into your spiritual chi, nurture and feed your spirit and cleanse yourself of any negative energy at the end of the day.

How to Create A Beautiful Wealth Bowl

Create a wealth bowl and place it on your coffee table in the living room or family room. Get a really beautiful bowl…you can use cloisonné, ceramic, crystal…anything that you love that is really gorgeous. Now fill it with lots of goodies to represent wealth. Fill it with fake gold ingots, diamonds, jewels and some coins and bills as well. If you can turn it or spin it easily it’s even better!

Special Wealth Ritual: When friends come over ask them to throw a coin inside your wealth bowl! It’s very symbolic because it means whoever comes into your house is actually adding to your wealth. Over time you will find that your wealth is slowly growing this way. It’s a lovely ritual and one that I’ve introduced with great success to many of my friends and students. Create your wealth bowl today!

Forget About Getting Even

It’s happened to all of us. We’ve been hurt, cheated on or deceived. Once we’ve “licked our wounds” the first inclination is usually to get even with the one who has caused us pain. If you have these thoughts, remember that getting even wastes your bravery and energy. If your driving force is motivated by thoughts of revenge, you will not succeed and you will only cause yourself more pain. Forget getting even.

I’m sorry -with so many exciting things going on I neglected to write last week about Hungry Ghost Month and it is already upon us. This year, the Hungry Ghost period started July 27 and ends August 24, 2014, in the 7th month of the Lunar calendar. The actual day falls on the 10th of August 2014.

I know you all understand what happens in this period, right? During this time it is said that the yin overpowers the yang – meaning that when yin chi dominates the house it begins to attract ghosts and wandering spirits who love yin chi. If your house is too dark or heaven forbid, if it is built over a gravesite then wandering ghosts will find it very attractive. Remember, hungry ghosts have been temporarily released from the hell realms to roam anywhere this month.

So please be extra vigilant this month, okay? And to appease any such visitors, light plenty of joss sticks, offer prayer and the rituals for prosperity for dead relatives to enjoy like paper money, houses, etc. This brings them relief and some material comfort when they have to return to the hell realms.

One more very important thing to remember: hungry ghosts can cause harm to you if your chi energy is low or depleted. To counter this, you must wear amulets and ensure that there is an excess of yang energy. Wear lots of bright colours and play music (which is why you find many Chinese temples putting on feasts and opera shows at this time).

Finally, don’t go swimming or travel, stay indoors after nightfall (especially children), don’t move house or start a new business or get married during Hungry Ghost Period!

Enhance with Inushuk water feature or another type of fountain. Place the 8 Auspicious Objects here to dissipate conflict energy.

Unlucky sectors?

The NORTHEAST is severely afflicted this month – the home location of the ox and the tiger. The monthly 5 yellow brings health problem and misfortune so display the Kalachakra Stupa and keep a wu lou by your bedside. Anxiety could lead to fights and there may be excessive gossiping so use 6 Heavy Metal Coins and any other metal to exhaust the afflicted earth energy (5 star).

Be aware that the EAST’s illness energy is further strengthened by the 9 star so make sure you have the proper cures in place – the golden wu lu tied with 6 coins and display double happiness symbol to strengthen relationships. Pregnant women should avoid this sector due to health problems.

No Hands On Shoulders This Month Please

Please avoid placing your hands on your shoulders. Everyone is said to have three flames on the body; one on the forehead, two on the shoulders. When you place your hand on your shoulder it is said to “put out” the flame, weakening your internal energies and increasing the chances of spiritual possession. This month, above all, avoid doing this!

The complex nature of all things can usually be broken down into basic elements. Think of something like music, which comes from a few basic notes or all of the colours, which are simply an amalgamation of the primary colours. Look at the basic elements of your life to analyze what makes yours real for you.

The secrets we all want to know

In just a few days it will be 4th of July, which is a very big holiday for all of my friends and students In the USA! It’s also called Independence Day and marks the signing of the Declaration of Independence July 4, 1776 (declaring independence from Great Britain).

This is a huge day of fun and celebration – lots of YANG energy! Some of the festivities are fireworks (of course!) along with parades, family reunions and barbecues. What the Americans are really celebrating is freedom. It reminds us just how lucky we are – all of us who live in countries that allow us freedom of choice, to follow our dreams and to reach whatever level of success we desire! Unfortunately not all people are so lucky.

A lot of people who aren’t familiar with feng shui or paht chee reading have asked me if it’s necessary to have both skills…and I always recommend that you learn both. Why? We Chinese believe that it is only by knowing the benchmarks and milestones in your life as revealed in your birth data that you can be forewarned of obstacles in your life and identify the “lucky” periods too. This is what knowing how to do a Paht Chee reading will give you.

We don’t consult feng shui or paht chee experts from a fatalistic viewpoint…but rather the motivation is to discover the ways and means of improving our lives. You can do this too once you know how to read your chart.

Your Paht Chee chart is made up of four pillars or columns and each pillar comprises two levels containing two elements that define an important pillar of your date of birth – the year, month, date and hour. This course is all about analysis…and it’s not difficult.

The Eight Major Offerings

In Chinese feng shui there are eight major offerings that are believed to bring excellent good fortune when made to the deities and especially to the Buddhas.

The offering of food which signifies prosperity
The offering of money which signifies generosity that leads to wealth
The offering of water which signifies clear minds
The offering of flowers, which signifies beauty.
The offer of light which signifies knowledge and wisdom
The offering of incense which signifies the overcoming of obstacles
The offering of music or sound which signifies happiness
The offering of dance, which signifies a cause for celebration.

All of these offerings are associated with each of the Eight Offering Goddesses who bring blessings from Buddha. Note the symbolism of the auspicious number eight…there is also a divine connection between this number and the celestial deities that shower down good fortune!

If you have an altar at home you can enhance its energy by making offerings to the deities on the altar…so why not place eight lovely figurines to signify the eight offering goddesses? Place a little of each offering by each of the deities to ensure eight types of good fortune and protection.
