Redecorating for Success

LTPhoto11I often receive emails from subscribers who are worried about money. I have even had them say…Lillian you could never understand my situation… because you don’t have the same financial worries…you are so successful and all. Those of you who are personally acquainted with me or have attended my classes or extravaganzas know that I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth! Everything that I now possess and the things that my family and I enjoy were gained through hard work, the practice feng shui done with good intention and a positive frame of mind.

Sure there have been lean and tough times…but here’s the thing. If you live in fear about money and your finances you will react from a place of fear. It’s important to understand this. Anything that you focus on expands… so if your thinking is of a positive and upbeat nature you can expect similar results. Be sure to read today’s article on the danger of scarcity thinking -what I want you to take away is that this type of thinking can become a habit.

Most successful and prosperous people don’t stop when faced with obstacles and defeat. They do not give up. You must not either! Please take time and read a few of the biographies of some famous people – you will find that most suffered defeat many times before reaching fame and fortune. You can too!

Re-Decorating For Success
LTYing&Yang2Keeping things in balance…it’s not easy these days. We all live very fast lives in this world of instant gratification and satisfaction. We wonder why we get sick more often; we are not as successful as we would like to be and have problems in the office and at home. There never seems to be enough time in the day to get everything done…let alone have a minute for personal development and relaxation.

In feng shui we recognize the importance of the harmony of yin and yang energies. We Chinese believe that all things in the universe are either female YIN or male YANG…the dark, quiet yin and the bright and boisterous yang – and we know that one without the other cannot exist. We cannot have the warmth of summer without the coldness of winter…or the darkness of night without the bright morning light. But they must be in balance.

When this balance is present everything works in your favor…so it’s important to create such a balance in your home and in your personal life. Think about your living room or bedroom for a moment in this context. Is the room too yin…is it dark and without sunlight or artificial light? What colours have you used? Have you decorated with shades of gray and blue? Is it cramped and uncomfortable? Are you suffering from a spate of bad luck…or have you been ill?

LTWindows3Create More Yang Energy!

  1. Repaint the walls using bright yang colours such as yellows or pinks. White walls are also very yang in nature.
  2. Bring in the light…get rid of dark drapes and replace with curtains that are airy and allow plenty of sunshine in. Keep the room well lit and leave one light on at all times.
  3. Open the windows!
  4. For your bed linens choose duvets and sheets with soft colours that compliment other furnishings. In your living room add brightly coloured pillows or throws to increase yang energy.
  5. Keep the radio or television on – bring in movement with windchimes and people…children and laughter…all symbolizing life force energy.

On the other hand, some rooms are too yang…and this imbalance can also result in illness, poor health, and exhaustion. When music is played all day (and it’s too loud) or your furnishings and walls are brightly coloured or the sunlight is harsh… you may need to introduce some yin energy to counteract.

Create More Yin Energy:

  1. Change the colour scheme to be softer and not so vibrant.
  2. Add heavier drapes if the sun is too strong.
  3. Observe periods of silence…turn off the radio and TV for awhile

So here’s the thing. There’s no real right and wrong way to do this. It’s personal and it’s a very subtle exercise. You’re going to have to experiment so that you never have too much yang or too much yin. You can have music and life in the room but just not all the time. Sometimes you need peace and quiet…but not all the time. If you cannot repaint your living room and the walls are grey and yin in nature…add splashes of yang colour with brightly coloured cushions or wall art. Even a vase of fresh bright and beautiful flowers in the living room adds great yang energy.

It sounds routine but this is one thing that is often overlooked. Just remember that good feng shui practice always includes a yin-yang analysis of the rooms of your home…as well as the surrounding landscape and yard. When there is balance between yin and yang there is prosperity, good health, well-being and happiness.

Annual Afflictions Always Take Precedence: Always keep the annual feng shui afflictions in mind. This year, the center areas of the home or office are highly afflictive and problematic with the hostile 3 star’s presence causing a great deal of aggravation and suffering. In this case we want to keep this area very quiet (yin) -no tinkling wind chimes etc, yet we also want to make sure to keep this sector very well lit with bright lights and lots of red colour (the fire element) like red cushions, decorations etc to exhaust the power of the wood star number.

The Danger of Scarcity Thinking
What do I mean by “scarcity thinking”? It means worrying each time you take out money to buy something…especially something to please yourself. It’s like you’ve been programmed to react to everything from a place of fear about lack of money and why you don’t deserve a particular item that you may want or need. You’re very frugal and worried about everything…perhaps even the amount of food you eat.

The danger in scarcity thinking is that it can become a habit and even your “norm”. You must be aware of this because before long you may forget about prosperity altogether and even give up on your dreams. I’m not suggesting that you run out and buy anything and everything you want…because we all need to be careful about our finances especially in times of uncertainty.
LTmanwithpocketBut here’s the thing. You can change the way you think. This is a very doable thing. You don’t have to live in fear about money and react from a place of fear in matters of finance. You can change all this, your life and lifestyle and reverse your scarcity thinking if you have the deep desire, determination and discipline to do so. When you train your mind change will happen and you will change. With proper training and practice, when you begin to visualize a life of prosperity and your ability to succeed, your inner power will take over and set the energies of the universe in motion for you.

There are particular techniques, visualizations and forms of meditations that I have personally used throughout my life that have brought me great success and many blessings both of a spiritual and material nature. You’ve probably read some of them in my books or heard me speak about a few of these ideas at my annual Spiritual Feng Shui Extravaganza.

Believe me, I have seen positive change manifest time and time again with all types of people from all walks of life with many different obstacles and problems…some of them very difficult. The first step is for you to believe and accept that this can happen to you and you deserve to live a prosperous and happy life. Then you must formulate a positive attitude and maintain it no matter what circumstances you face today. Look forward and not backwards…you can’t travel back in time but you can look ahead to tomorrow with a different mindset attitude.

We become what we think about most of the time. Unfortunately if you continue to think with a scarcity mindset then that is where you will remain. Listen to your “self talk” and catch yourself every time you revert to fear based comments.

One of the things I love most about my business and practice of feng shui is that it allows me to share my experience and knowledge with you so that you can effect change in your life…incredible change that really will transform and bring you great happiness. And isn’t that what we are all really after…true peace and happiness?

Remember…everything you need is already within you…the best time to access it is NOW!

All the best,
Lillian

LTCeilingFanwithbeamsBeams and Overhead Fans

When heavy structural beams are positioned directly above sofas, chairs and beds, they tend to cause illness to those seated (or lying) directly below. You may suffer from more stress, general fatigue and migraines. Overhead fans have the same effect although the one benefit of such a fan is that it keeps the chi moving in the room. Try not to have anything heavy or threatening above you in rooms that you occupy frequently

If you want to use your mind to actualize desires you have visualized, you must not worry about how your desires will manifest. Let the cosmic power inside of you take care of the details. Too much worry may sabotage the cosmic plan meant for you.

Unlocking 2015 Good Fortune Luck

LTPhoto11I’m really very excited about my new online course on flying star feng shui. You see one of the things that I specialize in is teaching feng shui in a way that is easy and still works because what is important is to capture the essence of the practice.

Now Flying Star Feng Shui is about the compass – knowing how to use it properly and the key lies in taking good directions. So this is the first thing I cover in the new course and believe me I go through it all very thoroughly so you become an expert in this – understanding facing directions and how to determine them properly. This is something that most feng shui masters do not cover…but it’s the first thing you must get right if you are to accurately determine the feng shui of your house or apartment. You simply have to get your facing direction right!

And that’s really only the beginning – we’ll go very deep into how energy changes and why this is so important for good feng shui since Flying Star deals very much with the time dimension of feng shui. You see updating your feng shui can be as simple as just removing some of the symbolic cures you used the previous year…but it can get a little more complex in the sense that you may also need to make some additional changes to take advantage of the inflow of good energy or block the flow of bad energy from coming into your house.

So the timing of this course is really perfect considering we have just entered the Year of the Wood Sheep (with the hostile 3 star in the center – of your home and office affecting all the residents). It’s key to get your annual updates done and done correctly and this course guarantees you will do just that.

We’ll be opening for registration of this NEW online course in just a few days so stay tuned and be sure to watch for some emails from me on this.

Until next week,
Lillian

Unlocking Your Good Fortune Luck in 2015

Each year different categories of luck are symbolized by different elements. Now you can harness this by displaying the seasonal animal groupings in the cardinal directions. Refer to the guide below to unlock good fortune brought by the different elements of the year.

The Magical and Mystical Power of WOF’S – Symbolic Cures & Enhancements

We all want good fortune, health and happiness…not only for ourselves but for our families as well. That is why the time dimension of feng shui is so important – as the energies of the world change with each New Year; we also must update the feng shui of our homes and offices to reflect these changes.

Inevitably we all suffer some simple bad luck…but when we know how the energies of the universe change and the effects on the different animal signs and homes from year to year we can avoid severe misfortune and suffering. This type of major misfortune is usually caused by bad luck, created by cosmic forces that are swirling around the environment causing upheavals in the universal balance. These act through the four elements of the cosmic universe – Earth, Fire, Water and Air which manifest through wood, rocks, the sun and the moon.

LT5elementsThese in turn are manipulated by the connectivity of the five elements – fire, water, earth, metal and wood that arrange themselves in patterns of energy revealed by the moving numbers of the annual feng shui chart. Those of you that attended my Feng Shui Extravaganza or have purchased your Fortune and Feng Shui 2015 Horoscope Book will be familiar with the feng shui chart this year. When you know how to decipher it, you can find solutions that will alleviate any bad luck and subsequent misfortune. So it’s quite amazing…really awesome in fact what you can achieve by utilizing this type of knowledge!

LTFlyingStarChart2015Naturally we want to strengthen the positive energies using good fortune symbols and subdue the afflictive energies with powerful corrective symbols that suppress the misfortune energy. But it’s the power of these cures and remedies that we use that is really magical indeed. In the past eighteen years we have gone much deeper into investigating the esoteric sciences that complement feng shui practice and we have discovered the all-important spiritual dimension of feng shui as well. That’s why we have leaned more and more on the sacred images, syllables, tools and colours to lend even greater strength to overcoming harmful conditions brought by negative astrological winds.

LTCarefulOfFakesIt’s worth mentioning once again to be careful of fakes! We take great care and pride in designing our cures correctly and many of the products on the market today (copies of our work) ignore the secret vital details that go into the design and material composition of our feng shui cures. This is especially true in the amulets and talismans that we offer to you that contain special syllables and sacred mantras that we know are absolutely correct. Unfortunately this is not true of many of the copies on the market today. Although they say, “imitation is the best form of flattery”, I caution you against buying from sources you do not know well or have just located on the Internet.

If you are interested in learning more about Flying Star Feng Shui then I highly recommend you enroll in my upcoming online course on Time Dimension Flying Star Feng Shui. This is the first time I have taught a course entirely dedicated to Flying Star Feng Shui but I think now you can understand why the time dimension is so critical to your success and avoiding bad luck. Our early bird list is now full…but there are still spots available so do sign up promptly once registration officially opens.

To your success!

Mind Clutter

LTClutteredDesk

We all know the importance of keeping our homes and offices free of clutter…but what happens when our mind becomes cluttered? When you find yourself with a mind block it’s time to take a break from what you are doing and clean up your workspace. When you get rid of any junk that may have accumulated, you are symbolically sweeping away any mental blocks that are impending your forward momentum as well as improving your physical feng shui. When you throw out old stuff you clear the way for new things, including thoughts and ideas to come in. And don’t forget your laptop or pc – clean up old files and delete unnecessary emails that have piled up.

With all the turmoil and weather changes in the world today, it is wise to reflect for a moment about the inconsistent nature of life. Most of us assume that things will never change and everything will go on day to day as it always has. We never anticipate losing our job, losing a loved one or a climatic disaster…so when things like this happen it is hard to recover. Think for while about your life and the nature of true reality so that when and if something unexpected occurs you are better prepared.

Happy New Year!

LTHappy2015Let me begin by wishing you a Happy New Year! It’s hard to believe another year has passed…and now is a good time to take stock of what has transpired in 2014.

Begin by asking yourself these questions. Have you been completely truthful with yourself this past year? Have all the issues that you have meditated and reflected on been accurate and free from distortions? Do you feel you have attained some level of success and progress? How is your energy work? Can you tune in to the balance of chi within yourself and the space around you?

As you think about these questions are you thinking only in terms of yourself rather than how your activities and actions could also benefit others? When we focus exclusively on the self, our thoughts are deluded. In 2015 as you continue in search of your “spiritual self” – your higher self, let it not be a search that revolves only around “I” (your ego), for this is not the true spiritual self.

Life is about realizing your true potential so that you can be of maximum benefit and service to the greatest number of people. It’s up to you to decide how you will accomplish this. But if and when you do, I promise you will enjoy a most special kind of happiness…better than any ego driven desires you may have had.

Of course this isn’t easy. But the secret of a happy life is to keep going no matter what obstacles get in your way. Today is the last day of this year…tomorrow a brand new year begins. Stand tall tonight as you flow along with the passage of time. Know that 2015 is going to be an even better year than 2014. Open you mind and your heart and be filled with the brand new energy of the coming year!

6 Tips on Getting Your Compass Directions Right!

Proper use of the compass and how to take directions in your home and/or office is vital if you are to get accurate readings and ensure that the orientations you are using are correct. With the Year of the Wood Sheep just a few weeks away, it’s important to get proper cures and enhancers in place according to the flying star chart for 2015… and since flying star is a compass formula you will need a good compass. Please don’t guess at your directions. Here are six tips to help you especially if you are new to the practice of Feng Shui.

LTFlyingstars2015

You will find this chart in the 2015 Feng Shui Almanac. This Almanac will help you select lucky dates and times for important events and to pick auspicious directions to make to most out of the year. Click Here to Order.
Tip #1 – Know the basic compass directions – there are 360 degrees around the compass and each of the four cardinal directions N, S, E and W, as well as the four secondary directions NE, SE, SW and NW occupy an angle of 45 degrees. You often see each direction as the slice of a round pie.

LTCompassDirections

Tip # 2 –  You must always read directions from a compass. Although most of my books show the direction south at the top it doesn’t mean that south is on the top when you are identifying directions in your own home and we never use the door or entrance to determine where “south” is located – just use the compass to determine the proper orientations of your home.

Tip # 3 – Defining Your Directions – You may be using your compass to take the facing direction of your whole house or apartment, or you may want to establish the directions inside. To identify the corners of the interiors it is best to stand in the center of the house if you can. You may also want to know the compass directions of a single room so in this case stand in the center of that room. Once you know your bearings, it is easy enough to demarcate all the sectors inside the home or individual room.

LTSmallCompassTip # 4 – Take directions holding your compass flat and at waist level as this gives a better reading of the way cosmic chi flows into your home – note that in newly constructed houses many contractors take compass readings on the floor so there can be a variation of 10-15 degrees between what they show and what you get standing up and holding the compass at waist level.

Tip # 5 – Watch for metal and electronic interference – be aware of this…it’s a good idea to take facing directions from three reference points and take an average of the readings. Generally I recommend that you take one reading just inside the main door looking out, step back three feet inside the house facing the front door looking out and then step three feet outside the front door and take an average of the three readings. The three directions could be different and this is normal. Compass readings are affected by magnetic energy caused by the presence of metal in structural pillars or steel in the walls and even seismic ground activity. Remember the most significant area is where the chi enters your home so one reading should always be taken near the main door.

Tip # 6 – Superimposing the Chart – When you have thoroughly familiarized yourself with the directions inside your home or office, then the next step is to superimpose the flying star chart for 2015 onto the floor plan of your house or office. There are several methods for transferring the chart to your floor plan; one is the pie chart method where you actually superimpose the circular compass on to the floor plan and subdivide your house according to the compass directions like a pie chart; another is to use the lo shu grid of nine squares and place the numbers onto your floor space. Some practitioners like to superimpose the nine grids equally while others feel that the numbers of each grid can be placed in different rooms based on the compass directions and the way the walls of the house or apartment are built. Either way, once you superimpose the chart you’ll be able to identify the quality of the energy in every corner of your house which makes it easy to suppress the 2015 afflictions and activate the sectors with lucky stars.

Be sure to take care of all afflictions prior to putting your enhancers in place. Good luck!.

Wishing you a happy and prosperous Year of the Sheep!

Lillian

For sure, 2014 has not been an easy year for many people throughout the world. We have all read of the bloodshed and violence and for those of you directly affected we send prayers of peace and hope. We all experience suffering at some point in our lives. Maybe you are feeling disoriented and in a state of disbelief right now because your husband or lover has left you; maybe you have lost someone dear to you to an illness or accident or you are ill yourself…there are so many things that cause us to suffer.

The only way to deal with grief like this is to accept that this is the nature of samsaric existence. Samsara, one of the four noble truths is the nature of suffering. The cycle of life always ends in suffering; we grow old and we die…or we lose loved ones. We must develop a strong wish to be liberated from this continuous cycle of suffering. Consider letting your loss, whatever it may be, open up a new spiritual path for you.

In reality, all happiness and suffering come from your own mind, rather than an external source – although this concept may be hard to grasp right now – especially if you are suffering greatly. As hard as it may be, I urge you to eliminate thoughts that bring pain and cultivate instead thoughts that bring you happiness. Thoughts that bring suffering are negative thoughts, the wrong philosophy and the wrong attitude. Following the right teachings, teachings that bring joy and happiness to you and those around you, engenders positive thoughts.

By studying, listening, reflecting and practicing positive meditation, you will eventually succeed in subduing the negative mind and you will find peace and happiness again. I’m not suggesting this is easy and that it will happen quickly. However you must begin. You must take the first step. You and only you are in control of your future, not the circumstances or people that surround you.

This is a new year. Begin this very moment to take control of your thoughts…and the happiness that is rightfully yours!
