Hungry Ghost Festival begins today on August 3 and ends on August 31st. We have already seen a lot of tragedy, terror and destruction in the world this year and you must brace yourself for a rather unpleasant August! This is the month when we appease the many wandering ghosts and spirits that have been released from the hell realms, yet the dangers are further exacerbated by two malevolent stars, the annual number 2 illness star and the monthly 5 yellow that combine in the center of the chart. If you are unsure what to do, be sure to get the August edition of Feng Shui World Magazine where you will find two very good articles about this. In the meantime, remember there is extreme danger everywhere and please always carry or wear protective amulets wherever you go. Stay safe and well!
Your Monthly Feng Shui Updates
Seventh Month on the Bing Shen Fire Monkey Year
August 8, 2016 – September 7, 2016
Here’s your monthly flying star chart – the seventh month of the Fire Monkey Year and I urge you to review this and pay attention to these recommendations. This covers the period August 8 – Sept 7, 2016.
In each of the nine grids you’ll see two numbers. The larger number is the annual star, and the smaller number in the lower right corner is the monthly star that you must also take into account.
The first thing to do is determine where the most important rooms in your house are located. By important I mean rooms that you use frequently…like your bedroom, the kids’ rooms, dining room etc. You may already know this, but if not use a reliable compass and stand in the center of your home to take your directions. It’s always good to do a recheck of your directions. Once you know where each sector is, you can refer to the flying star chart below and take appropriate action. So if your front door, the one everyone uses is located in the north sector then refer to the relevant grid below for the kind of luck that will affect everyone in the household this month. Some people like to make this more complicated than necessary – it’s not really difficult so please take the time to review this monthly.
Which sector will bring you luck?
The prosperity star flies into the NORTHEAST bringing good fortune and money luck to those who occupy this sector. Display a water wave of Dzambhala Water Feature in this sector to attract wealth luck, especially young male children. Young boys living here could have a small accident so wear the Dorje Pendant to safeguard against danger.
If you occupy the NORTHWEST there is good news and lots of unexpected money if you can tap into the auspicious energy of this sector -excellent prosperity luck from the heavens. Enhance this luck with the God of Mentor Plaque or bejeweled Fuk Luk Sau. Males should avoid this sector this month due to lung problems. Burn incense in this sector regularly.
The monthly 3 star brings inauspicious energies to the EAST this month causing serious disagreements and tension. Keep this area quiet and do not place any plants in the East sector this month. Remedy the afflicted chi with 9 Deity Plaque and Red Tara Lamp. Be careful when using candles, open fires and oil lamps as these activate the 3 star energy. Elder sons are most vulnerable to the energies of the 3 star this month.
If you occupy the WEST sector in your home, you need to take extra care this moth as the violent star flies in bringing threat of armed robbery and loss. Be sure to display a pair of Rhinoceros near the main door and carry the Anti-Burglary Hanging for your personal safety. Love luck is not good and betrayal is in the cards.
It’s important to fine-tune your feng shui every month and take care of the monthly flying stars. Note that the sectors mentioned above are only a few of the sectors. You need to read about all of the sectors to properly update your monthly feng shui. You’ll find these monthly charts in Feng Shui World Magazine, so if you’re not already a subscriber I suggest you sign on! It’s quick and easy and always available when you choose the online version…but printed copies are of course available as well!
Significant Spiritual Days in August 2016
This comprehensive spiritual calendar marks all the significant and powerful days to chant mantras, perform pujas and conduct powerful rituals that will increase your wealth, success, love and happiness.
This month we celebrate Buddha’s first teaching on 6th of August, also known as “Wheel Turning Day” or Chokor Duchen. This is an excellent day to recite the praises to Shakyamuni Buddha, chant his mantra and read the 10 Acts or 12 Deeds of the Buddha. Writing and reciting sutras and mantras generate extraordinary merit as karmic results are multiplied millions of times on this day! Be mindful to avoid negative speech, thoughts and actions on this day.
You’ll also find a chart showing the Vitality Points of Your Body (which are different for men and women) for each day of the month. Performing surgical operations on the joints or organs located at or near these points weakens your life span and vitality considerably so be sure to refer to this table when setting up dates for your medical operations.

The Feng Shui of Basement Apartments and Lower Units
Basement apartments are not usually auspicious because feng shui doesn’t recommend living below road level. However, if you do live in such an apartment you can enhance the chi by installing bright lights at the entrance to “raise” the energy and encourage the chi to flow into your apartment. Now if your lower level or basement unit opens into a garden at the back then your feng shui will be considerably improved.
The secret to health, wealth and happiness is simply to work at feeling good every single day of your life. Tap into your inner strength. Feel confident and know that you possess all the answers you need for overcoming any tough day that comes your way.
