Expanding Good Fortune In Your Living Room
In last month’s Feng Shui World magazine, I gave you nine ways to turn your living areas into magnets for good energy. In case you missed that article, you can find it in our November 2015 issue but here are a few of the highlights for you now.
Chi is the fundamental element of the space that makes up our homes and it is vital that the energy of the main living area is always welcoming – acting like a magnet for good energy to move effortlessly into the home. Good feng shui is all about fine-tuning the chi within our spaces so there is always a good balance of yin and yang forces no matter which way you face or sit.
Additionally a space with good chi protects the residents against unfriendly frequencies. It comes with the gentle breeze and also by the accumulation of water that allows it to settle and quench it’s thirst. A body of water near the front of the house keeps the family asset wealth from dwindling. So, by having some water feature in the living area like a beautiful aquarium you can channel water to ensure your family never runs out of income. This is why water plays such an invaluable part in feng shui.
Space today is becoming increasingly scarce so we have to be more skillful in finding ways to create good feng shui space. We are thus more dependent on the spiritual dimensions of feng shui. Many people think this kind of feng shui is “magical” as it involves symbols, images and representations that transcend the different levels of cosmic space – the cosmic flow of chi that channels celestial-type energies into our living spaces.
Placing different objects to interact with the energies of space and time dimensions works such wonders both at suppressing bad energies and enhancing good ones. We make extensive use of pagodas and stupas, which are powerful receptacles of concentrated chi energy. We also use auspicious brass mirrors, multi-level mandalas and symbols and syllables that dissolve all varieties of negative vibrations.
Here are the nine ways to attract the right excellent energy into your living space.
1. Never place a big piece of furniture in a small space
2. Create a space that acts as a “bright hall”.
3. Build a Mandala with auspicious symbols facing the main door.
4. Have a pair of celestial protectors like Fu Dogs, Chi Lins or Pi Yaos
5. Hang success bringing windchimes
6. Be mindful of seating arrangements
7. Never have a trash can visible in the living area
8. Be careful with mirrors in the living area
9. Hang a happy family picture
Be sure to read the full article in the November 2015 issue of Feng Shui World magazine where I go into each of the nine suggestions in full detail.

Grand Master Lillian Too is undoubtedly the world’s most prolific and popular writer and advocate on living with good feng shui! She has written over 100 books that have been translated into 31 different languages, and over 10 million copies of her books have been sold worldwide.
After graduating with an MBA from Harvard Business School, Lillian went on to pursue a highly successful business career in banking and finance in the 1980’s in Hong Kong. Her business acumen, drive and abundant energy soon led her from the finance world to the world of luxury department stores and boutiques where, through a leveraged buy out, she became Chairman and shareholder of The Dragon Seed Group.
All the while she was guided and taught by her feng shui masters in Hong Kong and China – and she attributes much of her monumental and quick rise to success in Hong Kong directly to them.
Lillian soon decided to retire from active corporate life and return to Malaysia to raise her beautiful daughter, Jennifer, and spend more time with her family. It was at this time she began to devote her energy to writing and furthering her study of feng shui.
She published her first book in Malaysia in 1995 that quickly became a best seller and the rest is history. Today she is Chairman of Wofs.Com, a feng shui franchise and merchandising company run by her daughter, Jennifer Too.
She trains feng shui students and future consultants at her Certified Consulting Institute in Malaysia and is much loved by her readers, associates and students for the way she teaches practical feng shui in a user-friendly way, using ordinary situations and circumstances that interest people and affect their everyday lives.
In November 2009, at the International Feng Shui Convention in Singapore, the well-deserved title of GRAND MASTER OF FENG SHUI was conferred upon Lillian Too. Immediately following this accolade, in early January 2010, she received the prestigious Brand Laureate Personality of The Year Award presented by the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia! There seems to be no stopping her popularity and these days!
Lillian believes everyone should know her secrets and learn how to adapt feng shui to modern life… and she warmly welcomes you into her Mandala.

A Quick Cheer Up
Feeling down and need a little cheering up? Wear something red. You can jumpstart your good fortune using the power of red. We Chinese believe so much in this that we use it for many things – red packets during Lunar New Year, red lanterns, candles and for brides wearing traditional dress plus much more. Why? This color symbolizes the fire element with the power to lift your spirits and suppress bad energy.
If you fall, simply pick yourself up and keep going. The secret is never to allow yourself to stay down for too long. We’re at the end of the year…tomorrow is a brand new year. Stand extra tall and program yourself to prepare for a great year ahead. Open your heart and your mind and let the New Year fill you with wonderful love and energy.
