Just one quick question…are you a hoarder? People often associate “hoarding” with being stingy about money – never giving – just keeping all your wealth to yourself. But hoarding also refers to your other “stuff”… and not throwing away or getting rid of physical things you no longer need or use including old clothes, furniture or dishes, things that you haven’t looked at for years. Honestly – this type of clutter will cause a dangerous build up of stale energy, which can be harmful and impede your good feng shui.
Please don’t think you’re alone if this sounds like you. All of us tend to let clutter accumulate – mainly because we’re too busy to go through things and make decisions on the spot – we just can’t decide. So we stash things in a closet or storage area and we tell ourselves we’ll decide about them or get rid of them later. And that’s the beginning of the end…because it just doesn’t happen. It’s too easy to ignore when things are out of plain sight – but the nasty stale buildup of energy continues regardless. Please begin today to take action – both at home and at the office so NEW energy can enter your life.
I once had a friend who called me because her business was suffering and she wasn’t getting any new jobs. When I visited her office the first thing I ran into in the entry way ( the main door) was some old cartons and piles of newspapers – somewhat blocking the door. It got worse when I went into her office – although a bit more organized there were still piles to be filed, sorted etc. I told her immediately to clear her entryway, get rid of all the debris and make room for new energy (and jobs!) to enter. She followed my advice and voila! Within a few days she began to receive positive responses to her bids for jobs…and her business picked up again significantly. It was that simple.
You may think I harp on this and something like getting rid of clutter is just “a little thing”…but I promise you your life and business will change when you clean up your act – both at home and the office. Why not begin today to get things organized so the chi can really flow and new luck and love can enter your life? This doesn’t cost anything except a little of your time! The Yin & Yang of You and Your Mate!
Opposites Really Do Attract …Let’s Find Out Why!
In the old days in China (and still in many places in the world today) arranged marriages were and still are based on much more than social status…the dates of birth and element charts of the prospective couple are drawn up… and the fortune teller is consulted to determine the compatibility of the couple. Although the practice has changed in many ways from the centuries past, and in most places in the world we choose our own partners (thank goodness), there is validity in determining the compatibility of a couple prior to marriage. So let’s see if there is truth in the old adage that opposites attract!
Now what do I mean by checking the compatibility? Chinese astrology has been around for centuries and of course the analysis is deep with many things considered and taken into account. However, basically conclusions are drawn on the destiny and personality profiles of the couple according to the Five Element cycle and the balance of Yin and Yang…always based on your year of birth according to the Chinese Ganzhi lunar calendar…your Chinese animal horoscope sign.
Although most of you reading this ezine probably already know your Chinese animal horoscope sign, if you are new to feng shui and want to verify your animal sign (or that of your partner) you can go to http://www.wofs.com and click the icon on right of the homepage screen marked “Chinese Horoscope”. Enter your birth year details and you will instantly be told your correct animal sign. Don’t just assume you know your animal sign because you were born in a certain year…remember it all depends on the lunar calendar so if you were born in January or February of any year it’s particularly important to check our website so you get it right.
The Concept of Yin and Yang
In this article we’re going to begin by looking at your compatibility with your partner – your wife, husband, lover etc. based on the concept of Yin and Yang…the principle of negative and positive…seemingly opposite in nature but also complementary and together when in balance, symbolize perfect harmony.
YIN: Think of yin as the female, passive, dark, cold and soft…symbolizing the earth and the moon…and death. Yin is negative energy.
YANG: Think of yang as the male, active and aggressive, bright, warm and strong…symbolizing heaven and the sun. Yang is positive energy.
You are all familiar with the universal symbol of Yin and Yang together…they constitute the principles of heaven and earth, life and death, the sun and the moon. They give meaning and depend on each other…without day there is no night…if you don’t know darkness then how can you know what light is? Without hot, no cold and so on. These forces interact continually to create change…so that summer eventually gives way to autumn and winter to spring, and day into night. They are inextricably linked and interactive.
The Yin & Yang of Human Relationships
Now how does the Yin/Yang concept apply to human relationships and compatibility? You can see that with the interaction of two individuals for example one should ideally be passive and the other aggressive…so there is balance. Of course in all relationships there are varying degrees of Yin and Yang…in the Yang there is a little Yin and in the Yin a little Yang. It is all about balance…so in your relationship there should be a reasonable balance of these two forces. Too much of one or the other is not good. So if you both are very passive and weak or alternatively both of you in the relationship are strong and aggressive it is not auspicious and the relationship may not succeed. That’s why there’s a lot of truth in the old saying “Opposites Attract”!
Now in the Chinese system of checking compatibility of individuals according to their year of birth, each year is designated to be either a YIN or YANG year. All of the even years are YANG years and all of the odd years are YIN years. So 1997 is a Yin year and 1998 a Yang year and so on. A yin/yang birth year match is therefore preferred to a yin/yin or yang/yang match!
This is only one of the principles used in determining compatibility of horoscope signs. In our annual Fortune and Feng Shui books we delve much deeper into what signs work best together and why…and what to watch out for. The Juicy Lime and Other Cures
Are you feeling victimized? Has someone been making your life miserable by spreading lies or speaking badly about you? Is office politicking and gossip working against you? Has a close friend suddenly turned on you?
If you’re being affected by things like this then you must do something about it. People may tell you to ignore these kinds of attacks…but don’t listen to them. If you don’t take action, you may find yourself descending into a horrible spiral of feeling miserable and sorry for yourself…because the bad energy of these people has pierced your aura.
Use Juicy Limes The Juicy Lime Cure – get two juicy limes (any variety) preferably from your own tree but from a grocery store will also do. Bring them home and do not wash them. Hold one in each of the palms of your hands and roll them in your palms while thinking…all the bad vibes, gossip and intentions of this person (say the name if you know it) are flowing into the lime. Keep rolling the limes in your palms for about 10 minutes…and then throw them both into a river or drain. Throw one over the right and the other over the left shoulder and DO NOT LOOK BACK. Believe that you have succeeded in removing all the bad chi and bad luck from your body and mind.
Now go back home and take a salt bath. You will find that those giving you a hard time will cease to be effective. This is also a great way to reduce the pain of losing a loved one or to get through a particularly bad month. The lime is believed to have the power to symbolically draw out all the negatives from your aura.
Blow Your Enemies Into the Cosmos! Another effective way is to visualize whoever is causing you trouble as getting smaller and smaller…until they are about three inches tall standing on the palm of your hand. Raise your palm up in front of your face and with a big smile on your face blow as hard as you can – sending him or her into to cosmos where he no longer has any power to hurt you! This is an excellent way to reduce and even completely remove all the negativities associated with that person in your mind.
Use the above cures…the first a ritual and the second a visualization to reduce the impact that others may have on your psyche. With practice, you will find that any of the negative people you may encounter will not have the power to disturb your mind…or your life.

If you are a “hoarder” and keep everything…then it will be very hard for you to ever enjoy good luck. When energy goes stale in the home due to “too much stuff” and clutter…the flow of chi stops. Clearing old junk on a regular basis makes room for NEW energy in your home, office or apartment.
Ugh! Spider Bodies!
Ugh! Get rid of any cobwebs and old dead insects now (even in garage or basement).
Spider webs and old dead insect bodies are not one of my favorite things. In fact when I think of the amount of yin energy they create it makes me even more anxious to sweep them away. So here’s what I do…as I am sweeping I think of the obstacles, blockages and other hurdles in my life getting swept away too. Do this regularly and add it to your other space clearing rituals such as using incense and sound.
